"The book was written, edited and ready to print, but the publisher stopped its publication at the last minute. Journalist Laura Ardila denounced that Planeta has censored a book she has written about a political clan in the city of Barranquilla, the Char family, on which she had been working for two years.
Ardila learned of the decision when she was summoned to an emergency meeting at the publishing house. It argued, she said in an article published in El Espectador, that the company was afraid of a lawsuit. Planeta has not yet offered any explanation.
The journalist has been investigating the Char family, Colombia's most powerful political saga, since 2015. Two years ago, she proposed to Planeta capturing the results of her investigations in book form."
