Colombian president responds to journalists who say he stigmatizes them

"Colombian President Gustavo Petro responded on Monday [July 8] to a letter from more than 180 journalists published in the opinion column of journalist Laura Ardila in El Espectador. Although they recognize the need for a debate on the quality of journalism, the journalists also say that the president's accusations stigmatize them.

Via the social network X, Petro said he does not attack the press, but that rather he defends himself from 'slander.' He added: 'You’ve ignored my questioning by turning it into an attack on the press as if I were a dictator'.”
