Congress members from Peru Libre present a bill to control radio and TV content

"The bill that declares of 'public necessity and national interest the fair and equitable distribution of the electromagnetic and radioelectric spectrum in radio, television and other media,' proposed by Congressman Abel Reyes, from Peru Libre, which has the digital signature of Waldemar Cerrón, spokesman for that party, and of Francis Paredes Castro, aims to set the agenda of the media and is a serious threat to freedom of expression.

This was stated by the president of the Peruvian Press Council Bernardo Roca Rey, who maintained that it is a very generic project that covers not only radio and television, but can also reach the written media and even the web and every media outlet that provides information from any platform, which would bring us to the same level as Venezuela or Nicaragua."
