"The president of Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves, labeled as 'sicarios' (political hitmen) this Mon. Jan. 9 some journalists who 'attacked' Health Minister Joselyn Chacón. This happened in the middle of a controversy surrounding payments Chacón allegedly made to a troll (fictitious social media character).
'The journalists of certain news outlets that have devoted themselves to attacking the minister without reason are political hitmen,' Chaves said in a press conference. He then read on his cell phone the definition of 'sicario' and said 'thank God' there are only a few journalists who fit that term."
