“The president of [Costa Rica], Rodrigo Chaves Robles, did not want to receive the representatives of the Inter-American Press Association (IAPA), who are visiting the country, in his office in the Presidency of the Republic.
This Tuesday [Jan. 28] the president of this organization, José Roberto Dutriz, confirmed that despite several requests to the Presidency of the Republic, no response was obtained to be able to arrange a meeting with Chaves.

He added that the IAPA views with concern 'the breaking of bridges' between the Executive Branch and the independent press in the country. He also questioned government barriers to access public information.”
