The Costa Rican Association of Journalists (Colper) has filed an appeal denouncing attacks by the country’s president, Rodrigo Chaves, against journalists, urging the court to reaffirm the protection of press freedom and the right to information.
Colper announced this Wednesday that the appeal was submitted on September 13, and the Constitutional Court accepted it for review on September 17. The purpose of the complaint is to demand protection for journalists and to defend press freedom and the right to information in the country.
