The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) asked Colombian authorities to investigate death threats against directors and team members of the Proclama del Cauca y Valle media group, based in the municipality of Santander de Quilichao, in the department of Cauca.
The group reported in July 2024 that it had received death threats after reporting on criminal activities in the area, according to the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).
“The Colombian prosecutor's office must bring those responsible to justice, protect journalists and allow them to work safely,” CPJ posted on its X account on Aug. 8.
