Another young Cuban independent journalist, Meilin Puertas Borrero, decided to resign from her job at the news outlet elToque, due to harassment by the Cuban State Security.
"Today, with a lump in my throat, I make public my resignation from El Toque, the news outlet where in recent times I grew as a journalist and as a person. (...) I am leaving because others are forcing me. They force me to leave elToque and not to work in any other alternative media, and to keep, almost as a result, my degree under a mattress," denounced Puertas Borrero in a Facebook post.
This is the second collaborator of this news outlet that decided to leave her job in the last few days after the Cuban regime prevented six journalists from the independent news outlet from leaving the country to participate in a conference in Argentina.
