Director of Human Rights Watch Americas says Mexican president does not care about murdered journalists

"The director of the Americas of Human Rights Watch (HRW), José Miguel Vivanco, said that President Andrés Manuel López Obrador 'does not care about the issue of murdered journalists.'

'In the last 20 years, at least 145 journalists have been assassinated in Mexico and of those, 25 in the first three years of his government. That Mexico is one of the most dangerous countries in the world for the practice of journalism does not seem to matter to him,' Vivanco told Gabriela Sotomayor of the magazine Proceso.
