"Eight months have passed without news of the young Peruvian journalist Daysi Mina Huamán, whose disappearance has been included by the international media coalition One Free Press Coalition among the ten most urgent cases to be resolved in the world for attacks and harassment of women journalists. The case of the young journalist, who worked for the local television channel VRAE TV (Valle de los Ríos Apurímac and Ene), the main cocaine producing region in Peru, the second largest producer of this drug in the world, seems to point, however, to another scourge that hits Peruvian women: sexist violence and the lack of interest from authorities to tackle this problem."
