“The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) decided to maintain the precautionary measures in favor of members of the Salvadoran media outlet El Faro, as reported this Wednesday (07.13.2022) in a statement.
The entity pointed out that the resolution was issued on July 8 and indicated that it 'expands the precautionary measure to three beneficiaries and lifts it with respect to six others.'
'The IACHR encouraged the parties to establish spaces for agreement for the effective implementation of said measures to protect people in the framework of their journalistic work,' said the human rights body of the Organization of American States (OAS). It also said that 'the resolution considered the updated information on events of risk to the life and integrity of the beneficiaries reported by their representation.'"
