“Explosives thrown by fans of the soccer team Atlético-MG onto the field of the MRV Arena [in Belo Horizonte, Brazil] hit photojournalists covering Sunday's [Nov. 10] Brazil Cup final.
One of the explosives erupted near photographer Nuremberg José Maria just after a goal by the team Flamengo. The photographer suffered three broken fingers, ruptured tendons and had to undergo surgery.
Another explosive fell under a chair used by O Tempo photojournalist Fred Magno. His camera, lenses and notebook got wet due to the explosion."
