Far-right activist in Portugal arrested after death threats against Brazilian journalist

"A far-right activist from Portugal, accused of making death threats to a Brazilian journalist, was arrested on Tuesday (Oct. 21) in Vila Nova, in the Metropolitan region of Porto, in the north of the country, and had his preventive detention ordered by the Court after going through his first hearing this Thursday (Oct. 23).

Bruno Silva, 30, who is a Portuguese-Brazilian citizen, was reported to the police and the Public Prosecutor's Office by Stefani Costa, a correspondent for the Opera Mundi news channel in Portugal, in June 2024.
