"Mexican authorities on Thursday [March 30] recaptured a former local police chief accused of involvement in the murder of Mexican journalist José Moisés Sánchez, who was beheaded in January 2015 and is considered one of the emblematic cases of violence against the press in Mexico.
The Attorney General's Office of the State of Veracruz, the entity in eastern Mexico where the crime occurred, reported that elements of the ministerial police served the re-arrest warrant against Luigui Heriberto 'N,' former commander of the Municipal Police of Medellín de Bravo, an area where the journalist practiced his profession.
The former police chief, who had been previously detained and released after obtaining an injunction from the federal justice system, is accused of the crime of intentional homicide to the detriment of Sánchez."
