Google launches free AI program to support 100 Brazilian news outlets

"Applications are open until April 25 for the AI Journey for Journalistic Business, a free Google program that will support the digital transformation of 100 Brazilian media outlets throughout 2025. The initiative will train media outlets on the adoption of artificial intelligence solutions to improve revenue, audience engagement and operational efficiency.

The project will promote a series of actions, one of which will be in partnership with Blue Engine Collaborative, a reference in digital strategy. Five labs will be held throughout the year. In the first phase, 40 participants will be selected for the first two classes, which will begin in May. The labs will cover everything from basic machine learning concepts to advanced generative AI applications, personalization tools, and monetization strategies.

Participants will also receive individual mentoring and a personalized assessment from FT Strategies, aimed at improving their strategies for using technology and AI. At the end of the training, the media outlets will be able to present their developed projects to receive technical consultancy dedicated to implementing the solutions in their routines."
