Group attacks headquarters of IstoÉ magazine after it publishes edition critical of Bolsonaro

"The headquarters of Editora Três, responsible for publishing the magazine IstoÉ, was the target of criminal attacks this Wednesday night [Oct. 20], days after publishing an edition whose cover compares President Jair Bolsonaro to Adolf Hitler. According to the company, 'political activists' put up posters and graffiti on the walls of the place, causing damage to physical property and insulting directors of the media group.

The National Association of Newspapers (ANJ, for its acronym in Portuguese), in a note signed with the Brazilian Association of Radio and Television Broadcasters (Abert) and the National Association of Magazine Editors (ANER), offered solidarity with the publisher and said that it 'strongly repudiates this attack and regrets that extremists who do not know how to live with press freedom incite intimidation against critical voices.'"
