"Guatemalan journalist José Rubén Zamora, president and founder of the morning newspaper elPeriódico, denounced this Tuesday [Oct. 19] before the general public that the head of the Executive, Alejandro Giammattei, together with the attorney general and head of the public prosecutor's office, Consuelo Porras, 'are fabricating' a case against him to incarcerate him.
Zamora, one of the main communicators of the Central American country and who last June received from the hands of the King of Spain Felipe VI the Award for Outstanding Media Outlet of Ibero-America, indicated that the Office of the Prosecutor for Administrative Crimes of the public prosecutor's office is conducting an investigation against him 'at the capricious, arbitrary and abusive request' of President Giammattei."
