"On March 10, Guatemala’s Second Court carried out an order from the Third Court of Appeals, sending journalist José Rubén Zamora back to pretrial detention after his house arrest was revoked. According to the Attorney General’s Office, Zamora must return to prison 'immediately.'
" 'The judge had no choice. The court arbitrarily ordered this. Despite his convictions, they left him no way out,' Zamora said after the ruling.
Judge Erick García, who had granted Zamora house arrest last October, said during the hearing that he and his staff have been 'victims of threats and intimidation by unknown individuals.' "
