"Honduran journalist Thelma Mejía, news coordinator of Channel 5 in Tegucigalpa, denounced this Thursday [June 6] repeated threats that she has been receiving, which she attributes in part to activists linked to the ruling party, and which the Government condemned.
'That the time has come to "remove my ovaries," that my account is going to be hacked, that I have to keep quiet, these are some of the intense messages received in the last few hours by the virulent digital troops and activists linked to the ruling party. The attacks are terrible,' Mejía said on the social network X.

The Minister of the Presidency, Rodolfo Pastor de María y Campos, condemned the threats against Mejía, former editor in chief of the newspaper El Heraldo, which is published in Tegucigalpa. 'We strongly condemn any threat or attack against @thelma_mejia and any other journalist. There should be no place for violence in our country or in our party, much less against freedom of expression.'"
