Honduras: Dina Meza is harassed and watched because of her work defending freedom of expression

"Dina Meza, a journalist and human rights defender from Honduras, has been the victim of harassment, surveillance, persecution and threats for several weeks.

Yesterday, Dec. 9, the journalist published on Facebook about members of the police stalking her from a van and monitoring her movements in the city of Tegucigalpa. On previous occasions, Meza has reported similar acts of harassment and persecution.

These events take place in a context of human rights violations in Honduras and the proliferation of violence against the press and human rights defenders of land and territory, which Meza has revealed as part of her work. In addition, derived from this, there have been smear campaigns, threats and harassment on social networks against her."
