Human rights commission issues protective order for Venezuelan journalist Roland Carreño

"On August 17, 2024, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights adopted Resolution 50/2024, by which it granted precautionary measures for the benefit of Roland Oswaldo Carreño Gutiérrez after considering that he is in a serious and urgent risk of irreparable harm in Venezuela.

According to the request, Roland Carreño, journalist, political activist and national leader of the opposition party Voluntad Popular, was detained on August 2, 2024, in the city of Caracas, by Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (SEBIN) agents. His whereabouts are unknown, for which reason it is estimated that he has been forcibly disappeared."
