“Bolivia has seen some 82 cases of press freedom violations between January and September 2024, including a recent aggression suffered by journalists covering the march of sectors supporting former president Evo Morales, as denounced on Sept. 19 by the Observatory of Human Rights Defenders of the UNITAS Network.
Of the total number, the 'most frequent' violation is the impediment of access to information, with 22 cases, 'followed by threats and intimidation of journalists (16 cases) and physical and psychological aggressions against journalists (12 cases)', according to the Common Alert Bulletin from the private human rights observatory."
