On March 30, 2026, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) adopted Resolution 21/2026, through which it granted precautionary measures in favor of Jorge Bello Domínguez, Marta Domínguez Galero, Yuleydi López González, and Yésica Bello, having determined that they are in a situation of gravity and urgency, given that their rights to life, personal integrity and health are at risk of irreparable harm in Cuba.

According to the request, Jorge Bello Domínguez is a journalist who has been deprived of his liberty since July 11, 2021, and is reportedly not receiving medical care for his health condition—specifically, as a person suffering from diabetes, hypertension, and asthma, among other ailments. Furthermore, his conditions of detention are alleged to be inadequate. Additionally, concerns have been raised that his mother, wife, and daughter are being subjected to threats, harassment, and surveillance by state agents—including being detained themselves. The State did not provide information to the IACHR."
