"President Javier Milei is pushing to reopen the case he filed against journalist Carlos Pagni for alleged defamation. This Thursday [Sept. 26], in a hearing before the Fourth Chamber of the Court of Cassation, his lawyer, Francisco Oneto, insisted on the idea that the journalist compared Milei's rise to power to that of Adolf Hitler in an editorial published in April of this year in LN+, where Pagni referred to a book that describes the days prior to Hitler's arrival at the German Chancellery to illustrate the problems of political communication at a global level.
The President's argument was dismissed by Judge Daniel Rafecas and then by Judge Eduardo Farah, but Milei once again challenged the ruling and brought the case before the Supreme Court, which agreed to examine the appeal and scheduled a hearing to listen to the parties, which was held this afternoon [Sept. 26].
In the 10 minutes available to him to present his opinion, Oneto argued that Judge Farah's ruling—which stated that Pagni made no analogies or comparisons—omitted several dimensions of analysis and that the entire matter should be discussed in an oral argument."
