"From Fundamedios we see as progress the creation today Monday, March 27 of the Mechanism for the Protection of Journalists, provided for in Article 42.1 of the Communication Law, under the authority of the Communication Council. This afternoon, at the headquarters of the Council and chaired by Jeannine Cruz, the proposal of the Mechanism was presented, which is divided along three axes: Prevention, protection and justice. All of them stipulate linking with public institutions. For example, in prevention, the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Women's Affairs, INEC, the Secretariat of Risk Management, among others, was proposed. At the meeting, civil society organizations were also called, including Fundamedios as a fundamental part of the build-up and evaluation of the Mechanism's implementation."
