“The National Association of Journalists of Peru (ANP, by its acronym in Spanish) condemned the murder of journalist Fernando Nuñez Guevara, from [digital media outlet] Kamila TV, which occurred on Friday, Dec. 5, in Pacasmayo, [department of] La Libertad.

This is the third killing of a journalist so far in 2025, following the murders of Gastón Medina in Ica and Raúl Celis in Iquitos. […] The ANP recalled that Nuñez Guevara also served as Secretary of the Interior, Minutes and Archives of the ANP in Chepén. The association said the journalist was attacked by hitmen while traveling by motorcycle with his brother, after returning from a news assignment. […] His died immediately, while his brother was left in critical condition.
[…] The ANP demanded authorities carry out investigations in a 'thorough, swift and transparent manner' to identify those responsible. It also urged that 'priority be given to the lead linked to Núñez’s professional work.'"
