Journalist Francklin Tamar is shot dead in Haiti, the ninth media professional killed so far this year in the Caribbean country

"A journalist was shot dead on Sun. Dec. 18 in Haiti, a country that this year has already recorded a total of nine murders of press professionals, in addition to several cases of aggressions during the performance of their duties, and abuses by the authorities.

Francklin Tamar, 38 years old, was shot by individuals traveling on a motorcycle, according to local media. The journalist, who hosted the programs 'Konpa, Konpa' and 'Samedi Culture' on Radio Solidarité, died on his way to the hospital.
