“Last Sunday [Nov. 3], sports journalist Marco Antonio Centurión was detained by mistake at the Gigante de Arroyito Stadium, in the city of Rosario [Argentina], after local police [mis]identified him as the leader of a gang that distributed child pornography. A few minutes after the incident, the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, proudly published news of the police action on her account on the social network X. She has still not deleted or apologized for the post.
In dialogue with 750, Centurión told about the 'nightmare' he experienced last weekend and how it affected his life.
'I went to cover the final of the Primera B Nacional, between San Martín de Tucumán and Aldosivi. I traveled by bus, I got AFA credentials, I picked up my press credential. When I go to enter through the journalists' sector, they ask me for my DNI number to do the security checkpoint and they tell me that I had an arrest warrant, they run me to the side and put three officers to guard me,' he recalled."
