Journalists' association urges support for colleagues affected by Hurricane Otis in Acapulco, Mexico

The Association of Displaced Journalists of Mexico expressed its deep concern over the devastation caused by Hurricane Otis in Acapulco, Guerrero. The organization urged federal and state authorities to implement emergency strategies and provide support to local journalists who continue to carry out their work despite difficult circumstances.

"We are deeply concerned about the situation of our colleagues and fellow journalists in Acapulco, who are facing precarious conditions and have suffered personal losses due to this natural disaster," the Association said in a statement published on its X account.

The organization called on the Governor of Guerrero, Evelyn Salgado, to channel the state's Journalist Protection Fund to provide comprehensive assistance to affected journalists.
