“Two journalists from the Salvadoran digital media outlet El Faro were detained at the facilities of the University of El Salvador (UES) in San Salvador.
The detention occurred when Brenda Morales, who identified herself as a government worker, without showing any accreditation, asked the journalists to delete the photographs they had taken and in which it was evident that the university is being used by the government of Nayib Bukele to accommodate journalists who will cover the presidential inauguration, an event that [took place] this June 1.
'The person who detained them took photographs of the journalists and although she had mentioned that she was a government worker, she never showed them her official identification,' El Faro reported on its social media accounts."
