“The house of Silvia Peraza Azueta, journalist and manager of the online news portal Código Rojo Quintana Roo, was shot at after she filed a report about threats with the state attorney general.
At 12:32 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, the journalist posted a message on the portal’s Facebook page, reporting the attack on her home in Cozumel.
In response, the Quintana Roo Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation and announced it is ‘working in coordination with island authorities to gather the necessary evidence and elements to clarify the events.’ ”
