On Friday morning [March 28], a Facebook page called Noticias Chiapas al ROJO circulated information accusing 18 journalists of allegedly being at the 'service' of an organized crime group.

In response, the group of journalists called on state and federal authorities to investigate the events and punish those responsible, as well as to guarantee the free exercise of freedom of expression. For its part, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) called on Mexican authorities to guarantee the safety of the reporters named on the Facebook page."
