Journalists in Ecuador face verbal attacks following presidential elections

“The April 13 election [in Ecuador], which ended with presidential candidate Daniel Noboa winning by more than 11 points over Luisa González, was marked by verbal attacks on the press, both from supporters of the losing candidate and from the leader of the Citizen Revolution movement, former President Rafael Correa.

At the headquarters of pro-Correa party in the La Mariscal district of Quito, supporters mourning the loss began chanting phrases like 'Corrupt press, out!'
