Brazilian Justice censors UOL feature stories on Bolsonaro clan's real estate

"The Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories ordered the withdrawal of the air of two UOL feature stories on the use of cash for the purchase of real estate by the family of President Jair Bolsonaro. The decision, by Judge Demetrius Gomes Cavalcanti, heeded the appeal filed by the defense of Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ). The magistrate understood that the stories on the purchase and sale of real estate by the Bolsonaro clan had used classified information, contained in a police investigation that had already been annulled by the Superior Court of Justice. (...)

UOL revealed that the president's family had acquired half of the property with the use of cash. Of the 107 properties acquired by President Jair Bolsonaro, his children, ex-wives and siblings since the 1990s, 51 of them were acquired totally or partially with cash. According to the deeds, the 51 properties cost, at the time, R$13.5 million [US$ 2.5 million dollars]. The cash-only part of these transactions is at least R$5.7 million [US$ 1 million dollars], still in values at the time."
