The Oaxaca Prosecutor's Office reported that those convicted of the murder of journalist Heber López Vázquez received sentences of 35 and 40 years in prison for the crime of murder in the first degree.
With the sentence, the Prosecutor's Office added, the trial that began three years ago against Ricardo E. C. and Ricardo G. R., identified as the perpetrators of the homicide, concluded. One of them was the brother of a former agent of Salinas del Marqués Oaxaca.
Journalist Heber López was shot and killed in his recording studio in the municipality of Salina Cruz, where he was with his minor son."
