Journalists from Chile, El Salvador, Mexico, and Nicaragua are part of the latest cohort of Report for the World, an international journalism program that connects local newsrooms with talented journalists to report on little-known issues around the world.
'Fifteen journalists are joining this latest cohort, bringing Report for the World’s current corps size to 45 reporters working in 20 countries. Since launching in 2021, the quickly-growing global service program has helped over 30 newsrooms employ locally-hired journalists to report on undercovered topics like climate change, the environment, criminal and social justice, education, healthcare, and civil liberties,' according to a press release issued by Report for the World.
The journalists, supported by the program, will become full-time employees of their newsrooms for up to three years.
