Mario Tascón, Gabo Foundation professor and Ibero-American digital journalism pioneer, dies after giving a talk in Argentina

"On Friday [Sept. 29], while walking in Buenos Aires, journalist, professor, cultural activist, and businessman Mario Tascón suddenly died due to a stroke. He was 60 years old. Tascón was in Argentina's capital city to give a talk on artificial intelligence to journalists, one of his many intellectual passions.

Born in Ponferrada [Spain] in 1962, Tascón was professor of the Gabo Foundation, former president of the Fundación del Español Urgente, and winner of the Internet award his professional career in 2022. His most notorious professional achievements point to him out as one of Spain's pioneers of digital journalism and infographics. He was an entrepreneur in the noblest sense of the word: he founded several projects that marked the path of the transformation of traditional media into 21st century platforms [...]. In 2010, with María Moya, he founded Prodigioso Volcán, one of the best Ibero-American communication and strategic consulting agencies, which has won several international awards in design, infographics and digital events."
