"Journalist Rosario Martínez de la Vega publicly denounced being a victim of judicial harassment by a doctor affiliated with the Ministry of Health, stating that she has faced nearly three years of legal persecution stemming from her journalistic work.
In an open letter addressed to authorities, the journalistic community, and the public, the journalist explained that the case was reopened under case number Z2025-586, even though the Attorney General's Office determined in June of last year that no crime had been committed and had ordered the case closed.

Last year, the organization Article 19 reported that, on average, a new judicial or administrative proceeding is initiated against a journalist or media outlet every four days in the country, as a mechanism of harassment and censorship."
