"Journalist and Grupo Diario de Morelos radio host Edgar Arroyo was the target of an armed attack in the city of Cuernavaca. He was injured and taken to the hospital, where his condition is reported as stable. The incident took place the night of September 10, when Arroyo was traveling through the Ramón Hernández Navarro neighborhood, located east of the capital of Morelos.

In an interview with La Silla Rota, Arroyo, the radio coordinator for Grupo Diario de Morelos, said he requested the activation of the Mechanism for Human Rights Defenders and Journalists of the State of Morelos, of which he is also a member.
He confirmed that it was a direct attack and called on the authorities of the Morelos Prosecutor’s Office to investigate and find those responsible."
