“Journalist Israel Vázquez Rangel died after being shot in the municipality of Salamanca, [state of] Guanajuato, while reporting.
According to the first reports, the attack took place on [Nov. 9] Monday morning in colonia Villa Salamanca 400, where the journalist went after hearing a report on the discovery of human remains. When Israel was preparing to do his coverage for El Salmantino, he was attacked by armed individuals who later fled the scene."
