Mexican journalist Jaime Barrera released 24 hours after being abducted

"[In the early hours of March 13], journalist Jaime Barrera gave his first interview after being abducted for more than 24 hours. [...] He said that he was in good health, but concerned and shocked by the experience he had lived through.

According to him, his captors released him at a bus station [in the municipality of Magadalena, in the Mexican state of Jalisco], where members of the National Guard arrived and helped him to return to his family.

[Barrera told Televisa Guadalajara network that] he even suspects that the motive [for his abduction] could be related to his work as a journalist, as he assures that no ransom was requested."
