"Journalist Rodolfo Franco reported being targeted with threats, cyberattacks and judicial persecution after publishing his investigation into alleged irregularities of the former Attorney General of Aguascalientes, Jesús Figueroa Ortega. Franco attributes the attacks to a circle of political protection surrounding the former official and requested protective measures from the relevant authorities.
The journalist said that, following the publication of the first part of his investigation, his platform, Rodolfo Franco Informa, was hacked, and files and investigations were opened against him, which he said are part of an attempt to intimidate him. Franco explained that he currently has four bodyguards and is under the protection of the Mechanism for the Protection of Journalists, which is part of the Ministry of the Interior."
