“Avisack Douglas, a journalist working as a photographer for a candidate from the Citizens Movement (MC for its initials in Spanish) party, died at a hospital from multiple gunshot wounds, according to reports. The Mexican Association of Communicators and Journalists confirmed and condemned what it called her ‘cowardly murder.’
Luis Carbonell, the party’s state leader, announced her death in a brief message on social media. He said the ‘cowardly and terrible attack’ was directed at Xóchitl Tress, the MC mayoral candidate Juan Rodríguez Clara, who was unharmed.”
