México: Attorney General's Office linked five former police officers to the trial for alleged torture of journalist Raúl Fernández

"The Attorney General's Office (FGR) of Mexico obtained indictments against five people for the alleged crime of aggravated torture against journalist Raúl Fernández León, in Quintana Roo, in 2019. Those implicated respond to the name of Lamberto "V", Casto "P", Candelaria "A", Socorro "G" and Nesguer "V," who were then public servants of the Municipal Department of Public Security and Transit in the Benito Juarez municipality. (...) According to the organization Artículo 19, Fernández León was covering a story in the Public Security facilities about alleged abuses of authority perpetrated by municipal officials, when the accused handcuffed and detained him."
