"Mexican] journalist Ciro Gómez Leyva denounced on Dec. 15 that two armed men made an attempt on his life outside his home. 'At 11:10 pm, 200 meters [650 feet] from my house, two people on a motorcycle shot at me, apparently with the clear intention of killing me. I was saved by the armor of my truck which I was driving and I have informed the authorities of the matter,' wrote the journalist. The journalist also shared on social media [photos of] the bullet impacts that his truck received and said that it was thanks to the armoring of the vehicle that he was saved."
