"Violence against journalists in Mexico is intensifying. Journalist Ricardo López, director of the InfoGuaymas portal, in Sonora, in northern Mexico, was shot to death this Thursday [July 22], in the parking lot of a supermarket. The communicator, who turned 47 on July 22, had denounced in a press conference that he had received threats from organized crime in March of this year. 'Exercising journalism in Guaymas is highly risky, although the complaint is already there, there are still threats,' said López a few months ago."
