"One year after the murder of journalist Antonio de la Cruz and his daughter Cynthia, the Attorney General's Office (FGR, by its Spanish acronym) announced on Wednesday [June 28] that Rafael Santiago Arano Rodríguez was apprehended and a judge ruled that he must face trial for the crime of aggravated homicide.
De la Cruz was shot to death on June 29, 2022 in Ciudad Victoria, capital of the state of Tamaulipas (northeastern Mexico), as reported that day by the newspaper Expreso, the news outlet where he worked."
