Mexico: Spanish FAPE urges López Obrador to promote a negotiation to end the Mexican state news agency strike

"The Federation of Journalists Associations of Spain (FAPE, by its Spanish acronym) sent a letter to Mexico's president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, urging him to open truly effective dialogue and negotiations to put an end to the strike carried out by the workers of the Mexican State News Agency (Notimex). The labor conflict is two years old, becoming the longest in a public body in the country's history.

'Despite the fact that the employees, grouped in SutNotimex, have proven to labor and legal authorities to be in the right, they remain expelled and subject to a harmful labor and economic uncertainty, without the agency heads agreeing to negotiate a solution to the conflict.'"
