More than 4,000 Brazilian journalists saw salary cuts or were let go during the pandemic

"According to a survey by the National Federation of Journalists (FENAJ), there were 3,930 journalists that work under a formal contract for newsrooms, in 16 unions in the country, who had their salaries and work hours reduced during the pandemic. Another 81 journalists had their work contracts suspended and 205 were laid off."
