"The Cuban Institute for Freedom of Expression and Press (Iclep, by its Spanish acronym) recorded in July 140 events on the island that it considers violations of press freedom, the highest monthly figure so far in 2022.
According to a press release from this Cuba-based NGO, in the year as a whole it has recorded 409 acts that infringe on the freedoms of journalists in the practice of their profession.
In July, it said, most of these events occurred around the 11th, when the first anniversary of the largest anti-government protests on the island in decades was being celebrated."
